A plain-language guide for parents, guardians, and young creators about accounts, privacy, content review, and publishing on GamerHood.
Saving and Publishing by Age
Choose the path that matches the creator's age. Saving on this device is different from saving to an account.
Under 13
You can create without an account. Your unfinished work uses device-only browser saving.
A parent or legal guardian must use an adult account, complete parent verification, and create the child’s email-and-password sign-in or authorize the child’s Google account. The storefront URL then becomes public, while parent approval and GamerHood’s review are still required before an item can appear.
Ages 13–17
You can use your own Google account to save artwork privately and return to it later.
An unfinished merch draft remains in the browser until you submit it. Your work stays private until you link a parent or legal guardian and they approve the version you want to publish. GamerHood's moderation requirements must also be met before the work can become public.
Age 18 or Older
You can create an adult seller account to save artwork, publish listings, and manage your storefront.
An unfinished merch draft remains in the browser until you publish it. Content checks and GamerHood's other publishing requirements still apply before a listing can become public.
What happens if I refresh or close the browser?
Once you place artwork on merch, GamerHood tries to save the current unfinished merch draft in this browser. After a successful save, refreshing the page or closing and reopening the same browser normally restores it for up to 7 days after the last save.
The draft does not move to another browser or device. It may be unavailable if you clear site data, end a private-browsing session, or the browser blocks or removes its storage. Choosing Start Over, removing the current image, or starting a fresh design clears the current merch draft. Prompt text or an upload that has not reached the merch step may not be restored.
Our Safety Principles
This page explains the safeguards and limits that apply when young creators use GamerHood.
Limited Creator Information
The age step asks for an age group, not a birth date. For an under-13 child, a verified parent creates an email-and-password sign-in or authorizes the child’s Google account. A creator profile may include a display name and optional avatar; families should avoid adding other identifying details.
Approval Before Minor Work Is Public
Work from a creator under 18 stays private until a linked parent or legal guardian approves the requested version and GamerHood's moderation requirements are met. Creators under 13 also require the parent or guardian to complete the consent steps shown in the adult account.
Automated Checks and Review
When designs are saved or submitted for publication, automated checks examine text and images for safety concerns and certain intellectual-property signals. A design may be blocked or held for review. These checks cannot establish copyright ownership; concerns can be submitted through our reporting and DMCA processes.
No Direct Messaging or Comments
GamerHood does not currently offer direct messages, comments, or other child-to-child communication tools.
Data Minimization & Retention
We limit the information requested for creating, selling, and supporting an account. Our Privacy Policy describes what is collected, how long different records are kept, and how to request access, correction, or deletion. Some records may need to be retained for legal, safety, transaction, or dispute purposes.
No Behavioral Advertising or Sale to Advertisers
GamerHood does not currently run behavioral or interest-based advertising or sell personal information to advertisers. We use limited analytics on approved public pages and a first-party product-popularity signal, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Safety Measures Have Limits
Automated screening, private-by-default minor listings, and adult approval reduce risk, but no system can identify every unsafe or infringing design. Parents and guardians should review creator activity and report content or privacy concerns to GamerHood.
Parent & Guardian Controls
Available controls depend on the creator's age and how the adult account is connected.
- Use a separate adult account rather than sharing a creator's password
- Link to a creator ages 13–17 with a short-lived, one-time code
- Review and approve or reject the requested version of a minor creator's work
- Complete the additional verification and consent steps required for an under-13 creator
- Manage listings, pricing, earnings, and payouts owned by the adult seller account
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of associated personal information
- Report a listing or submit a copyright concern for GamerHood review
